Salute from the Shore

2019 will mark the 10th year of this unique event. Head to the beach on Independence Day and watch as vintage military aircraft and F-16s from South Carolina Air National Guard’s 169th Fighter Wing do flyovers across the Carolina shores. Bring your flags and festive gear and wave to these heroes. The Salute from the Shore flyover will take place at 1 p.m., starting at Cherry Grove and making its way down to Bluffton, SC around 1:25 p.m. salutefromtheshore.org
Liberty at Broadway Hot Dog Eating Contest
Thursday, July 4, 2019, 3 p.m.
Up to 10 participants will have the opportunity to win $300 cash by eating the most hot dogs in three minutes. Second and third place participants will receive a $200 and $100 Homegrown Hospitality Group gift card respectively, and a Liberty and Pigman Goods swag bag. Murrells Inlet Boat Parade

Get into the holiday spirit with this annual fun-filled event. The Murrells Inlet Boat Parade begins at noon at Garden City Point, goes past the MarshWalk and ends up at Morse Park Landing. Spectators can watch the parade from anywhere along the MarshWalk. marshwalk.com
Independence Day Race at the Market Common, Myrtle Beach

Inaugural Red, White & Blue 5K at Barefoot Landing, North Myrtle Beach

Head to Barefoot Landing for the inaugural Red, White & Blue 5K. This race will run through Barefoot Landing, including all of their new developments. Town of Pawleys Island 53rd Annual 4th of July Parade
Thursday, July 4, 2019, 10 a.m.
Visitors and locals alike parade down the Island in anything that can become a makeshift float— all of which are decorated in true red, white and blue. The Pawleys Island Parade is a fun, family tradition on the 4th. To enter a float in the parade, go to Town Hall, 323 Myrtle Avenue, Pawleys Island to fill out an application. The cost to enter is $15 in advance, the day of the parade it is $20.
Croissant’s 8th annual Cupcake Eating Contest
Thursday, July 4, 2019, 10 a.m.-1 p.m
Contestants 18 years and older have five minutes to eat as many cupcakes as they can. Enter for your chance to win $500 cash and more than $1,000 worth of prizes. Broadway at the Beach, Myrtle Beach, 10 p.m. Don’t miss the huge fireworks display over Lake Broadway, as well as live entertainment and events throughout the day.
Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, 10 p.m. Head to the oceanfront in Myrtle Beach to see these fireworks shot off from the Second Avenue Pier.
Cherry Grove Pier, 9:30 p.m. Folks on the north strand won’t have to travel far to see these fireworks, shot off from the Cherry Grove Pier beginning at 9:30 p.m.
Barefoot Landing, North Myrtle Beach, 10 p.m. Don’t miss the daily SummerFest activities at Barefoot Landing and this special fireworks display on the 4th of July, beginning at 10 p.m.
MarshWalk, Murrells Inlet, 10 p.m. To cap off the day full of MarshWalk festivities, a spectacular fireworks display is planned for 10 p.m.
