Part of the Museum of Coastal Carolina’s Sandbar Lecture Series, this talk by Brett Riggs will focus on Operation Paperclip—the code name under which U.S. intelligence and military services extricated scientists from Germany during and after the final stages of WWII. Roughly 1,600 scientists and their families were brought to the U.S. to work on America’s behalf during the Cold War in hopes of harnessing German intellectual resources. Museum of Coastal Carolina, 21 E. 2nd St. Tuesday, 6–7 p.m. Free with museum admission. (910) 579-1016, www.museumplanetarium.org
