Horry County Literacy Council Murder Mystery

Horry County Literacy Council Murder Mystery

Reserve your tickets now for this exciting event at the Dunes Golf & Beach Club that raises funds for the HCLC, a local nonprofit furnishing free literacy training to children and adults in Horry County. Over the last two years, the nonprofit has grown from 30 volunteer tutors to more than 100. Once again, Carolina Forest High School Theatre students will showcase their considerable talent, performing the murder mystery Dying for Chocolate. Last year’s event sold out quickly, according to Cheryl Mathieu, executive director of the literacy council, and expectations for this year’s gala are the same. And the play isn’t the only activity afoot!  “We will have an extensive silent auction and raffle room,” she notes. “Attendees can expect to see an array of auction items from local businesses and numerous golf and hotel packages. This is Horry County Literacy Council’s signature fundraiser and last year we raised over $15,000 for HCLC.” Dunes Golf & Beach Club, 9100 N. Ocean Blvd. Saturday, 6pm. $75.
