Envision what Hobcaw Barony was like before European colonization through a walk in the salt marsh. In the Discovery Center, participants will learn about the relationship Native Americans had with the land. Afterwards, a bus ride and a short trek in the pluff mud will lead to a shell midden – the remnants of a Native American eating spot. Recommended for ages 6 and up; Children must be accompanied by an adult. Participants will need to dress for weather and insects and wear close-toed shoes that can get wet and muddy.
