Enjoy the cool air on an exclusive hike through trails usually closed to the public. The four-mile trek begins at the woods of Belle Baruch’s airport and continues through Barnyard Village, an African-American community of extant cabins lived in until the 1940s. You’ll also take in the brick rice mill ruins and upland woods, all while discussing the natural and cultural histories of Hobcaw’s western boundary.
Hobcaw Barony, 22 Hobcaw Road. Thursday, 1:30-4 p.m. $25. (843) 546-4623, hobcawbarony.org
