This four-mile hike will comb the edge of Hobcaw Barony’s 5,000-acre salt marsh, allowing participants the chance to study the history and ecology of one of the best understood estuaries in the world. Led by Master Naturalists and docents, hikers will also learn about the natural and cultural history of Clambank, with a special emphasis on the African-American role in oystering, clamming, duck hunting and fishing during the Baruch family’s ownership.
