In 1999, Guy Daniels, a rising sophomore at College of Charleston, passed away from an undiagnosed heart condition. Daniels was a lifeguard and an employee of a local surf shop. His memory is honored with this two-day event, which benefits the Guy Daniels Memorial Foundation, an organization that provides need-based scholarships to local students.
