The annual Guy Daniels Memorial Surf-Off was held on the beach in Surfside Beach for the 14th straight year. Daniels was a lifelong resident who died in 1999 at the age of 19. Proceeds from the event go to the Guy Daniels Memorial Foundation, which provides need-based scholarships to local students.
