Guns & Hoses Softball Tournament

Guns & Hoses Softball Tournament

This is the 16th year for the lively matchup between area first responders. Held at the Myrtle Beach Pelicans Ballpark, the gates open at 9 a.m., with games kicking off an hour later. There will be a hot dog buffet (cost is a donation), along with limited concessions that include beer, along with raffle prizes. The buffet and admission costs benefit the SOS Care and Horry County Project Lifesaver program serving Horry County. “Project Lifesaver" is a radio frequency bracelet that is worn by those deemed “at risk” and who tend to wander, with disabilities such as Autism, Alzheimer’s, Dementia and other intellectual disabilities,” explains Monique Clement, Project Lifesaver Coordinator. “We are in partnership with Horry County Public Safety, the City of Myrtle Beach Police & Fire, Conway Police Department, and North Myrtle Beach Police to make Project Lifesaver possible for those in need in our community,” she adds. “No one will ever have to pay to be on our Project Lifesaver program with the success of events like these.” First responders will compete throughout the day, with a championship game taking place at 5:30 p.m. Come watch the showdown between eight teams, and help with this worthy fundraiser! MB Pelicans Ballpark, 1251, 21st Ave. North. Saturday, 9 a.m. $10 admission. www.milb.com/myrtlebeach/events/gunsandhoses
