A juried fine art show sponsored in part by the Georgetown Business Association (GBA), benefits The Village Group, a local nonprofit that assists kids with college and career readiness and cultural education, including art-centric summer programs. More than $3,000 in cash awards is planned for the art show, says Deb Smith, GBA member and owner of Art Harbor Gallery. The judges will select winners in 2D and 3D art Friday and will award 10 prizes ranging from $125 to $600. Sellable works will be displayed from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at many downtown businesses and at an Art in the Park event in Francis Marion Park. “It’s similar to Lake City’s ArtFields, only far smaller,” Smith explains. Visitors can enjoy living and interactive art displays, kids’ art projects, local artists painting live, and music. Don’t forget the Wine Walk, from 4 p.m to 7 p.m Saturday. Downtown Georgetown, Friday-Sunday, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Free to attend. www.artwinewalk.com
