This favorite musical tells the story of Ren McCormack, a teenage boy from Chicago who moves with his mother to the small town of Bomont after his father abandons them. He immediately finds himself at odds with most of the town, including the Reverend who has convinced the town to outlaw dancing. Ren finds this unbelievable and, with the help of the Reverend’s own daughter, Ariel, and Willard, a country hick who becomes his best friend, Ren fights this decree.
