Cambria Katherine’s Vineyard Chardonnay 2020
Santa Maria Valley, California $22
An outstanding example of the world’s favorite white grape, this version stands out with a bouquet of ripe apple, citrus, and oak. The mouthfeel is creamy vanilla, lemon curd, and tropical fruit, leading to the satisfying finish. This wine loves Chicken and Seafood. Earned a 90-point rating from Wine Spectator.
Segura Viudas Reserva Heredad Brut
Penedes, Spain $30
Sparkling wine from Spain is ‘Cava’, and this one is a blend of 75% Macabeo and 25% Chardonnay. The grapes are hand harvested and blended in tanks for 30 months. The result is an aroma of honey, dried fruit, and flowers, with a lingering mouthfeel of spritzy lemon-lime and smoky bits of brioche. Pair with apps, cured meat, poultry and desserts.
The Beach by Whispering Angel Rose 2021
Provence, France $21
Chateau D’Esclans offers many Roses, but ‘The Beach’ is my first choice! A blend of three French red grapes, it brings fresh aromatics to the nose, with taste highlights of red berries and hints of lime and melon. Delightful and easy to enjoy with a variety of foods, and especially with friends!
Cape Mentelle Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2020
Margaret River, Australia $24
A classic French blend of Sauv Blanc and Semillon that’s so good, you’d think it came from France! A nose of fresh green lime and passion fruit, followed by a bold palate of tropical fruit with hints of peach and nectarine. Lemon sorbet is present in the rich, lingering finish. Rated 91 points by James Suckling.
Trimbach Gewurztraminer 2019
Alsace, France $36
Maison Trimbach was founded in 1636 in the heart of Alsace, where this unique grape thrives. Fruity and spicy, it is a good alternative to Reisling: a similar taste profile, but more kick. Dry and balanced, it is light-bodied, fruity, eager to please. Serve as an aperitif or with any spicy fish or well-seasoned steak tartare.
