Kinsley and Chase knew in high school there was a happily-ever-after in their future

High school sweethearts Kinsley Odom and Chase Poston, born and raised in Florence, South Carolina, didn’t meet until junior year, but once they did, their bond and connection were undeniable.
“We met when I was going through a really tough time and his patience, kindness, and thoughtfulness helped piece me back together in such a way that I knew, just one month into dating, we were going to get married someday!” says Kinsley.
She was absolutely right because, fast-forward, the couple was married on October 28, 2023, at Dunes Golf and Beach Club, Myrtle Beach, immersed in an all-white themed color palette.
“We toured several wedding venues, but when we walked into the Dunes Club it absolutely took our breath away!” says Kinsley. “I grew up playing golf and Chase had recently found his love for playing it, so it just made sense that we get married at a golf course with beautiful views! Chase also proposed to me on a golf course in our hometown, so it just felt right!”
She says she and her groom planned the wedding to have every detail “scream Kinsley and Chase.” Florals, for example, were all white, such as roses, baby’s breath, plus filler greenery.
In honor of Down Syndrome Awareness Month, which also falls in October, and Kinsley’s brother, who has Down Syndrome, Chase, the groomsmen, and both fathers wore Down Syndrome socks and Kinsley’s “something blue” honored the genetic condition. More special touches that day included dedicating Kinsley’s bouquet to her mom and how important she is in her life instead of a bouquet toss and having the same pastor that married Chase’s parents and other relatives officiate theirs, too.
“As for my gown, I’ve always known I would have a custom dress made by Gregory Ellenburg,” says Kinsley. “I also knew that I wanted to incorporate my mom’s dress in some way, and I had an idea of what I wanted in the front by combining two of my favorite pageant dresses he made me in the past and combining it with the back of a dress I’d seen online and Greg nailed it! I also wore my mom’s original veil.”
The reception also featured the couple’s favorites, starting with pigs-in-a-blanket and a veggie cup with Ranch dressing hors d’oeuvres, chicken fettuccine alfredo, lasagna, or parmesan chicken for main entrée choices, and a chocolate melting cake and wedding cake. A late-snack of pretzels with different dipping sauces was also served.
Additional highlights from the reception were the live painter, a custom ice sculpture, a video wall showing the couple’s engagement video, the travertine tile place cards crafted by Kinsley’s maid of honor, a customized crest featuring the newlyweds’ three dogs (August, Atlas, and Ace) that appeared throughout the day (like cornhole boards), and napkins printed with fun facts about the Postons' relationship journey.
“My biggest piece of advice to brides planning their wedding is to hire a full-service wedding planner!” says Kinsley. “Chase and I chose Ash Events and we loved working with Ashley and her entire team. They made our day go so smoothly, brought my Pinterest board to life, and kept the day on time and on track. Also, don’t pick a photographer or videographer just because you like their style, but pick them based on how the two of you mesh and how your personalities get along because they will be around you and in your face all day capturing all the important moments and you will definitely be able to tell if you’re uncomfortable!”
Today, Kinsley, an assistant manager at her family-owned Pee Dee Auto Sales, and Chase, an estimator at Classic Collision, Poston live in their home-sweet-home in Florence.
