Myrtle Beach Museum’s appraisal event can reveal your prized possession’s true value

Ever have visions of being on a television show where an expert tells you that the artwork left to you by grandpa is worth more than your savings? Maybe to the tune of $50,000? The Myrtle Beach Art Museum is giving Grand Strand residents the chance to rummage through their homes, unearth family treasures, and learn if the item’s worth is beyond sentimental. At Art, Antiques, and Appraisals in January, regional and national experts will be on hand to appraise everything from fine art and jewelry to silver, ceramics, collectibles, and Colonial articles. The experts will also offer tips on how to care for these special items. Even if you don’t bring out grandma’s hobnail glass collection or a rare Hiller Atom Ray Gun toy, this fundraising event is sure to offer a touch of antiques education.
