This fresh, innovative Myrtle Beach-based company provides real estate investors a broad range of services and is living up to its motto of “reimagining the possibilities.”

Saltwater Grande opened in 2019 by owners Sherry Gustafson, Betty Robey, and Alex Szymanowski, and includes a full-service real estate brokerage offering services to buyers and sellers, a high end, luxury vacation rental company, a long-term management program geared toward year-round living for tenants, and offers management services for all types of properties throughout the Grand Strand. The design company provides interior design services geared toward creating higher revenue opportunities for investment property owners. They work with homeowners in all types of design tasks, from small redecorating projects to complete renovations, and everything in between. The featured project was a complete redesign of a vacation rental unit in the Bahama Sands building of North Myrtle Beach.

What are the core values of Saltwater Grande?
It’s really simple. We want our company to provide every client, guest, owner and customer with the highest level of customer service we can offer. Details matter, and sometimes in this industry, customer service takes a back seat to the hectic pace of just trying to get the job done.  We want our relationship with our customers to be a positive experience, one they will want to share with others.  Our design team likes the challenge of coming up with a redesign that accomplishes the goals of the property owner.  As in this project, the goal was to create a property that would appeal to vacationers and create higher rental revenue for the property owner.

What was asked of you and what did you do?
Our client was looking for an updated design that would appeal to a wide variety of guests in order to improve his rental income. The project needed to be completed during the off season so as not to impact his spring and summer rental season. He didn’t have any specific design in mind, just that it be “coastal.”  He gave us a budget and outlined the improvements he wanted. We replaced the flooring using a commercial grade LVP (luxury vinyl plank), and painted the entire condo utilizing accent walls in a smoky blue to create the coastal feel. We replaced the living room and dining room furniture, added new bar stools, replaced all the vanities and mirrors, replaced the master bath tub/shower with a walk in shower, swapped out the kitchen and dining lighting, added a backsplash to the kitchen, replaced all the bedding and lamps, mounted the televisions on the walls, replaced all the artwork and décor, and created a beautiful fireplace, which became the centerpiece of the project. Once completed, the condo joined Saltwater’s vacation rental property line-up, where we saw an immediate surge in bookings to the property.  We’re thrilled that our design has been so well received and shows all signs of accomplishing the goal of increased revenue performance.
