Head to North Myrtle Beach to get festive with The Great Christmas Light Show

The North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex will be getting a very festive makeover for the holiday season. The Great Christmas Light Show is a park-wide lighted celebration featuring more than 2 million lights along a 1.5-mile drive. As you cruise the luminous lane, you’ll experience more than 500 magical light displays, some of them up to 55 feet tall. The path also includes 20 enchanting animated figures and holiday scenes. New for 2017 will be a section of lights that come alive to synchronized music.

After your journey through the light show, park your car for a visit to Santa’s Village. Here you can enjoy hot chocolate and s’mores, as well as get an up-close look at the lights by taking a ride on the Santa Express Train. There will be a petting zoo and ice skating on a synthetic rink. Be sure to take a stroll down the lighted walking trail and experience the Go Ape lighted tree top adventure. Get a thrill as you tube down Santa’s new 40-foot inflatable slide. And, of course, meet Santa himself!

The event will run through December 31 and is open each day except for Christmas. Gates will be open from 5:30–9:30 p.m. each night for the light show. Santa’s Village will be open on Fridays and Saturdays through December 9 and nightly starting December 15. Admission is $15 per vehicle for 1 to 15 guests, $30 per vehicle for 16 to 30 guests and $60 per vehicle for 31+ guests. Buses can be scheduled by calling (843) 280-5570.

Pile in the car, take in the lights and enjoy some festive fun at Santa’s Village. This is the perfect family event for getting into the spirit. Visit http://parks.nmb.us/ for all the details.
