This love story lasted through distance and time

Jennifer and Matt met in 2000 on the dance floor in a club. They hit it off right away, but when Matt was given the chance to move to California to pursue his dreams, they both knew he had to go. They kept in contact for a year or two, but with the long distance in a world without cellphones, they fell out of touch. Fast-forward 18 years, when the pair reconnected via LinkedIn. Messages soon turned to texts, which turned to calls, which turned to multiple cross-country trips. Matt proposed at the Charleston waterfront in 2018.

The March 21, 2020, wedding at WildHorse at Parker Farms in Longs ended up just being family and very close friends due to COVID-19. Jennifer found the dress at Evelyn’s Bridal—a strapless ivory Lillian West gown with a sweetheart neckline. Matt wore a slate blue suit from Banana Republic with a skinny pink tie. The groomsmen wore light gray suits, with the bridesmaids in blushing pink. The florals, created by Greenskeeper Florist, featured pink and white roses, purple and green succulents, and eucalyptus leaves. The best part of the day was saying “I do.” Since the couple had waited 7,303 days for that moment, it was pretty special
