Honoring Grand Strand Heroes: Dr. Tim Carr

April 2020

Many people on the Grand Strand put their own well-being on the line to keep this country moving during the COVID-19 crisis. That includes healthcare workers, first responders, delivery people and grocery store workers, along with many heroes who did not expect to find themselves on the front lines.

Grand Strand Magazine invited readers to tell us about the local heroes they see working hard. Kelly Hughes nominated Dr. Tim Carr, McLeod Health Seacoast Emergency Department Medical Director, as her Grand Strand Hero.

"Dr. Carr leads our staff in the emergency department at McLeod Seacoast. During these challenging times he has led the way to make sure our staff and the patients are safe," Kelly wrote. "He has compassion and a real heart for what he does."

Dr. Carr’s leadership and wisdom guide both staff and patients. "It’s hard to quantify how his efforts have impacted each patient who has come through our doors,” explained Kelly. "Their well-being is his number one priority."

Thank you, Tim, for the hard work you are doing here on the Grand Strand! Nominate your own local #GrandStrandHero here.
