Beach, Boogie & BBQ Festival hightlights Labor Day weekend festivities

This Labor Day weekend, locals and visitors alike will delight in a culinary competition that brings some of the most famous, as well as the most delicious, barbecue recipes the South has to offer to the 7th annual Beach, Boogie & BBQ Festival.

The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the Omar Shrine Temple to host this annual barbecue competition. With more than 60 local and regional teams, festival goers will be able to sample an array of barbecue dishes on Saturday with a $10 wristband. Teams will be competing for a variety of titles from chicken and rib dishes to “Anything But.” The competition is a Kansas City Barbeque Society-sanctioned event, meaning that only the best will be crowned.

To satisfy the “Boogie” indicated in the festival’s name, live music will be provided for the entire weekend. The Fantastic Shakers will take the stage at 8 p.m. Saturday and fireworks will follow the show.
