Annual Plantation Tours set for March

On March 28 and 29, the Episcopal Church Women of Prince George Winyah Episcopal Church give you a unique view of Georgetown through their Annual Plantation Tours. For 67 years, visitors have gotten to travel back in time by visiting pre-Revolutionary War and antebellum churches, townhouses and plantations.

The tours are an all-day affair, beginning at 9:30 a.m. and ending at 5 p.m. Each day features a different group of homes. After Friday night’s tour, the Prince George Men’s Ministry will be hosting their annual Oyster Roast & Pig Pickin’ at 6 p.m. at Hazzard Marine. Each afternoon, all visitors are invited to enjoy tea at the Winyah Indigo Society Hall.

Be sure to pick up some souvenirs from your tour when you stop by the Parish Hall. Art from local artists, home baked goods, books from the Georgetown Historical Society and the Church’s own cookbook, Plantation Tours and Tastes, are all available to purchase.
