Head out West for the Best

Left Coast White Pinot Noir 2020
Willamette Valley, Oregon $19
In 2011, under-ripe red Pinot Noir grapes yielded the first White Pinot Noir for Left Coast. This vintage offers a bouquet of honeysuckle, orange and pear, with a flavor profile of dried apricots, peaches and pineapple, ending with a dry, minerally aftertaste. Earned Wine Enthusiast Editor’s Choice rating of 92 points.

Frog’s Leap Napa Merlot 2020
Rutherford, CA   $30
An award-winning vineyard, producing very drinkable wines since 1981. This hardy Merlot has aromas of blueberry and plum, aged 18 months in French oak. The result is a rich and supple mouthfeel, with luscious chocolate, herbal and spice notes. Plush tannins help extend the soft finish. Pair with roasted veggies, grilled chicken or London Broil.

J Vineyards Cuvee Brut 20 Sparkling Wine
Russian River Valley, CA $36
A traditional blend of 51% Chardonnay, 41% Pinot Noir, and 8% Pinot Meunier create subtle aromas of almond, green apple, and tangerine on the nose. The tiny bubbles rise up to bring fruity notes of cherry, raspberry and strawberry to the palate. And the spritzy and lively finish tickles your tongue! Earned a 90-point rating from Wine Spectator.

Belle Glos Rosé Oeil de Perdrix 2021
Sonoma, CA $19
The classic term “Oeil de Perdix’ means ‘eye of the Partridge’, and refers to the pale pink color the wine is named after. Aromas of apricot and honeysuckle lead to an inviting blend of red berries, notes of passion fruit, guava and hints of kiwi. With bright acidity, it all combines into a tart, juicy finish. Pair with light hors d’oeuvres, cold shrimp, or burgers on the grill.

Miner Napa Chardonnay 2019
Napa, CA  $20
The Miner Family Winery produces many French-style wines, many of which have been poured at the White House. This example stands out with a nose and flavors of crisp apple, citrus, and ripe melon, softened by malolactic fermentation. Smooth and balanced throughout, the finish is lengthy with a hint of oak. Enjoy with meaty fish and shellfish, seasoned poultry or pork.
