Annual conference recognizes those who have made an impact
Women who have made an impact on South Carolina and the world through their service and leadership will be honored on February 27 at the fourth annual Celebration of Inspiring Women and the Women’s Leadership Conference. The event is sponsored by the Women in Philanthropy and Leadership, an organization that was created in 2007 at Coastal Carolina University by Terri DeCenzo, faculty and staff, local philanthropists and businesses.
The WIPL’s mission is to empower women through leadership skills. The group’s goals include celebrating and recognizing female leaders and their influence, and to create a South Carolina Women’s Hall of Fame. The theme of this year’s event is “Lead the Change.” The speakers presenting are women who encourage other women to take action, whether it be politically, in the workforce, or other platforms. Some of the speakers on this year’s roster include CNBC’s chief international correspondent Michelle Caruso-Cabrera and ESPN reporter Wendi Nix.
