Celebrate the Season at Myrtle Beach First Presbyterian Church

December 2019

These special Christmas events will warm your heart

The Lovefeast & Festival of Lights

December 8, Sunday, 6 p.m. in the Sanctuary

The Moravian Lovefeast and Festival of Lights is a worship service of prayer, scripture, candles and carols that signifies Christian fellowship and brotherly love. The service will start with a beautiful candlelight processional with special Christmas music provided by the FPC Chancel Choir and other instrumentalists. Congregation members in period dress will serve coffee and biscuits as everyone joins in song. The beautiful and joyous service will conclude with a candle lighting.

Christmas Cantata

December 15, Sunday, 9:00 & 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary

As they do each December, the FPC Chancel Choir, soloists and instrumentalists will present a beautiful Christmas musical selection at the Sunday worship services. The 2019 Cantata is “God With Us.” The event celebrates God’s hope, peace, joy and love.

The Live Nativity

December 15, Sunday, 5:30–7:30 p.m. on the Front Lawn of Grissom

The youth of FPC will set the scene of Jesus’s birth with a live nativity scene. Real animals will grace the manger scene and you’ll get a chance to enjoy hot chocolate and holiday cookies. The children’s choir will also perform. Families with pre-school aged children are invited to come early to Wilkes Hall to learn about this special night and enjoy crafts and music before heading outside.

Christmas Eve Services

December 24, Tuesday, 5 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary

Two services will be offered to celebrate Christmas Eve. Everyone is invited to come and worship with FPC's church family and friends. A Habitat for Humanity Offering is received at both services. The 5 p.m. service will be child-friendly and appeal to all ages, with the 7:30 p.m. service featuring candlelight communion with lessons, carols and traditional Christmas selections.
