Fourth of July events to light up the Strand
A river raft race, live musical performances, a boat parade, food, fun and fireworks highlight Fourth of July events scattered throughout the Grand Strand.
From Murrells Inlet to North Myrtle Beach and Conway, there are celebrations galore to inspire patriotism and ignite excitement. Check out these Independence Day sparklers (all events are on July 4 except where noted):
Conway’s Riverfest Celebration, 3-11 p.m. June 25, featuring live entertainment in two stage areas, children’s activities, River Raft Race at 4 p.m., Boat Parade at 6 p.m. and fireworks at 9:30 p.m. www.conwayscchamber.com
Murrells Inlet Fourth of July Boat Parade and Fireworks, featuring boat parade at 10 a.m. beginning at Garden City Point and following the Murrells Inlet shoreline with best viewing from Marshwalk, Belin Methodist Church, Nance’s Restaurant and Hot Fish Club; fireworks at 9:45 p.m. from Veterans Pier with best viewing from Marshwalk. www.murrellsinletsc.com

Surfside Beach July Fourth Celebration, 6-10 p.m., featuring performances by stars from the Celebration Music Theatre, free watermelon and ice cream, hot dogs and hamburgers and fireworks at 9:30 p.m. from the Surfside Beach Pier. www.surfsidebeach.org
