Golf and art lovers alike will find themselves engaged in Fore! Images of Golf in Art, a collection of 40-plus works celebrating the sport of golf, including paintings of legendary courses Augusta National, Ballybunion, Cypress Point, Merion and Pebble Beach by famed artists in the golf world, including David Coolidge, Ray Ellis, Linda Hartough and Leroy Neiman. Nationally renowned artists like Will Barnet, Timothy Clark, Steve Penley and John Stango will also be featured.

Pictured above is Bobby Jones, a painting by artists Lucy McTier and her son, Jace David McTier. A Georgia native, Lucy McTier is a well-known portrait artist and has painted such high profile subjects as President Ronald Reagan (1985). Jace McTier’s first sporting painting was commissioned in 1996, when he was only 16 years old. Since then, he has been much sought after in sports portraiture and has been called the next Neiman by celebrated boxing trainer Angelo Dundee, who highly praises his knowledge of technique and use of color.
Fore! Images of Golf in Art will be on display at the Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum April 28 through September 15.
