Compassion Through Fashion rocks the runway for a successful third year to raise money for New Directions
The third year of the Compassion Through Fashion event was held April 21 at the Myrtle Beach Marriot at Grande Dunes. The fundraiser for New Directions brings the community together in a fun way to become more engaged toward helping the homeless population in our area. Participants create an inventive fashion ensemble using unusual materials and can represent an individual, a local business, an organization or a facility.
New Directions works to help move people out of poverty and homelessness by helping them regain their financial footing and building their self-worth and self-confidence. This year’s event was judged by Meghan Miller of WBTW News 13, Tommy Davis of Collectors Cafe & Gallery, Carl Kerridge of Carl Kerridge Photography, Joujou Safa of Bijuju, and Kalina Smith of RK Consignments and Interiors. The evening raised more than $61,000 for New Directions. Check out some of the creative and fabulous ensembles that took home awards.
