It didn’t take long for the Food Network to vote Johnny D’s Red Velvet Waffle as the #1 Waffle in South Carolina. After opening its first location in 2014, this breakfast and brunch spot (all locations are open 7 a.m.-2 p.m.) quickly became the talk of the town. Kids will find plenty of interesting choices, including sweet treats such as Cinnaroll Waffles, the aforementioned Red Velvet Waffle, Chocolate Chip Pancakes, a Coconut Banana French Toast option, and, of course, plenty of benedicts, omelets, traditional pancakes, fruit platters, and much more.

Boldly proclaiming “the greatest steaks in the universe,” owner and restaurateur of the year (2016) Angelo Antonucci is almost always busy in the dining room, kitchen or bar, greeting guests, some old friends and first-time customers as well. Steaks served on sizzling platters, along with an Italian buffet, have made Angelo’s a winner for more than 42 years.  Also enjoy a wide variety of desserts and an early bird special (‘til 6 p.m.).

Comfort food and homestyle dining from chef and co-owner Adam Kirby and co-owner/partner Anne Hardee (the same team behind Bistro 217) has made both of these casual—upscale dining establishments anchors of the growing Pawleys Island food scene. Rustic Table’s family-friendly approach with menu items for brunch, lunch and “supper,” will run the range of Lowcountry-inspired dishes, with lots of fresh local seafood and country-cooking favorites to sophisticated chicken, beef, seafood and BBQ. A kids menu ensures compliance from the little ones in your group and a full bar keeps the 21-and-over bigger kids happy, too.
