Get acquainted with the inhabitants of the Animal Forest at Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site, in Charleston – including the famous Clark the elk. The Animal Forest is home to a variety of species that inhabited South Carolina at the time when this site was a newly settled English colony. Animal Forest veterinarian Dr. Todd Heldreth discusses how zookeepers provide routine care to promote physical and mental well-being. In addition, he presents an overview of specific cases to highlight diagnostics and treatment for the animals when they are not well.
