Local birding expert Kurt Hugelmeyer will begin this program with a brief slideshow on birds most commonly seen in southeastern Brunswick County, as well as discussing the use of binoculars and the techniques of bird-watching. This will be followed by a field trip to some local birding hot spots in Ocean Isle Beach and Sunset Beach. Some walking is required and everyone is encouraged to bring their own bird guides and binoculars.
