Georgetown resident Betsy Havens grew up in Savannah and began her study and love of art at the Telfair Museum of Art at age 12. Congregate speaks to the common thread in Havens’ work—the human figure. The artist’s love for the human figure has led her to paint street scenes, markets, cafes, fishermen, dancers, mythical and historic figures and portraiture while being able to capture the individuality of the human spirit among large assemblies of people.
