Myrtle Beach
The Myrtle Beach Polar Plunge is an annual event full of fun that helps raise funds for the Special Olympics of South Carolina. Held at the beach in front of the Sands Ocean Club, participants only need to raise a minimum of $50 to help this worthy cause and to experience a thrill/chill of a lifetime! By “Freezin’ for a Reason” brave ocean-goers are creating more opportunities for determined athletes to experience the life-changing benefits of participating in the Special Olympics. Whether you take the plunge into the chilly Atlantic Ocean or cheer on those brave enough to do so, the event is all about raising awareness and funds for an incredible cause: providing year-round sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Sands Ocean Club Resort, 9550 Shore Dr. Saturday, with plunge times at 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on the half hours. $50+. polarplungesc.com
