The genre of marine art depicts maritime activities, naval scenes, ship portraits, inshore and harbor scenes, waterscapes and marine wildlife. The American Society of Marine Artists is a nonprofit dedicated to the promotion of maritime history and maritime art, with a focus on education and the exchange of ideas.
