The couple met when they were introduced through Whitney’s co-worker in 2008. Since it was just a few weeks before Whitney left for college at Winthrop and Wes was attending Coastal Carolina, they had a long-distance relationship for four years. After five years together, Wes hired a photographer to capture the proposal, which Whitney thought was going to be pictures they were taking for Mother’s Day gifts. They took photos along 66th Avenue North under beautiful oaks and headed toward the beach and water’s edge, where the sun was setting. This is when Wes got down on one knee and proposed. The wedding was held at First United Methodist Church in Myrtle Beach and combined Southern, rustic and classic styles. The colors were white and khaki with accents of coral, with lace and burlap making a striking combination throughout. The pair left their Pine Lakes Country Club reception in a 1962 Rolls Royce. They live in Myrtle Beach.
