The couple met while attending the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and dated for five years before Andrew proposed. After eight months of deployment on the USS Enterprise, he proposed to Virginia on the flight deck under the American flag at sunset. The small ceremony was held at Virginia’s parents’ home in Pittsburgh, with a reception in Pawleys Island six months later. The couple plan to live in Japan, where Andrew is stationed for two years.
