The couple, a college soccer and football player respectively, met during pre-season their freshman year at Presbyterian College. They had been together for five and a half years before Nic proposed right before Christmas. When her parents got Tricia out of the house, Nic set up luminaries down the driveway and nailed a 20 foot by 12 foot sign to a tree in the backyard. When he proposed the sign lit up with, “Will you marry me?” They celebrated with their families—including his mom’s lasagna, champagne and cupcakes. The ceremony took place at Christ Church in Murrells Inlet, followed by a riverfront reception at Kimbels at Wachesaw Plantation. They live in Suwanee, Georgia.
