Stephanie and P.J. met through mutual friends during a summer concert at the Boathouse. After a year and a half together, the pair took Stephanie’s daughter, Layla, out to eat with them at Wahoo’s, their favorite sushi spot. P.J. asked Stephanie twice to go walk down by the water, but she said no because their drinks had arrived and she didn’t want to leave her purse. Finally he said, “Well, I guess I’ll do it here then,” and got down on one knee. The ceremony was held at the Holliday Cottage at Brookgreen Gardens and was a small, intimate afternoon garden wedding with turquoise table linens and coral peonies. Layla and the couple’s nephew, Wyatt, served as flower girl and ring bearer and stole the show. The couple is planning to stay in Myrtle Beach while P.J. finishes his studies at Coastal Carolina.
