The pair met at school, where they were both third grade teachers. After four years together, Sara and Adam were visiting his family in Pennsylvania. After a five-mile run at Presque Isle State Park (a place that both visited with their families as children), they walked on the beach to look for a “wish rock,” a white rock that Sara’s mom always looked for when they visited. Sara found one and as she turned around to show it to Adam, he was down on one knee. The ceremony was held at the DeBordieu Colony, with the reception at the clubhouse. The feel for the day was bright and beachy, with beautiful azaleas blooming as a backdrop.
