The couple met in Ireland, where Eddie is from, while Hillary was spending six months there volunteering. After spending four weeks together, Hillary moved to China and the pair dated long distance for six months. Eddie quit his job and moved to China, and six months later they moved to America. After a year together, Eddie took Hillary hiking at Filmore Glen in upstate New York. There he proposed on her favorite hiking trail underneath a waterfall, followed by a gathering of family and friends at her family’s house. The ceremony took place at Our Lady Star of the Sea, followed by a reception at Ocean Club Grande Dunes.
