The couple met in Detroit and dated for six years before getting engaged. On New Year’s Eve they were vacationing on Daufuskie Island and walking on the beach with their dog, Rai. As the sun was setting, Jeremy got down on one knee and popped the question. The intimate ceremony with immediate family was held in the couple’s backyard in the Grande Dunes, followed by a reception with family and friends on The Deck at the House of Blues. The relaxed and fun wedding included Rai as the ring bearer and videographer with a Go Pro strapped to his back. The pair wrote their own vows and had several literary readings during their ceremony. After the ceremony, they dug up their traditional bottle of bourbon and headed to the reception, which felt like a big party with family and friends—exactly what the couple wanted. Emily and Jeremy live in Myrtle Beach.
