The couple met through mutual friends and dated for a year and a half before Robert proposed. During a daytrip to Charleston, he pretended that his Harley was breaking down on the Ravenel Bridge. The motorcycle was fine, and instead he got down on one knee and proposed. The ceremony was held on the lawn at the Dunes Golf & Beach Club and featured both traditional and personalized vows. The day was very family-focused, with the bridal party consisting only of Robert’s children and Eliza’s new stepchildren, Lexi and Robert. The pair make their home in Murrells Inlet.
