Prior to working as a police detective, Billy served as a school resource officer at Myrtle Beach Middle School, often participating in community-engagement events. He met Catherine, who was working as a youth librarian technician, when he went to Chapin Memorial Library to teach a class on cyber-bullying and unlawful communication and she helped him set up his PowerPoint presentation. The pair dated for exactly one year and three days before Billy popped the question. On the anniversary of their first date, he took Catherine on a re-enactment of the special night, proposing at the bench where the couple had their first kiss. The wedding was held at the historic Myrtle Beach Train Depot and featured a light pink and navy color scheme. High-top tables were strategically placed throughout the venue, and a three-ring backdrop housed the ceremony. The dessert-only reception included an ice cream bar, cheesecake bites, cookies, cannoli and more. Catherine and Billy live in Myrtle Beach.
