The couple met at Waccamaw High School and spent eleven years together before getting engaged. Christopher had been holding on to the ring for a few months during his last year of studies at Virginia Tech and, when the pair were getting ready to go out for a holiday party, he decided he just couldn’t wait any longer. They spent the evening celebrating with close friends in Blacksburg, and later with their families after returning to South Carolina. The ceremony took place at the clubhouse at Prince George in Pawleys Island and had a casual Southern feel. The afternoon outdoor wedding was by the water and featured warm spring colors, like green apple. Foods served included favorite Southern dishes like chicken and waffles, fried green tomatoes and shrimp and grits. The groom’s mother conducted the ceremony. Brooke and Christopher live in Baltimore but hope to one day return to the South Carolina Lowcountry.
