Bethany Caron Landy & Michael Travis Hyman

Beth, who was working on her master’s at MUSC, and Travis, who attended Charleston School of Law, were first introduced at the College of Charleston Library. After a date at Blossom, they have been together ever since and even spent two years long distance while both working in different cities. The proposal took place in Beth’s apartment on the river, where Travis hid the ring in an ornament on the tree on Christmas Eve. The ring was very special, as it was given to Travis’ grandmother from his grandfather on their 30th wedding anniversary. It was later worn by Travis’ mother, who lost it while fishing in Garden City and found it four tides later. The wedding took place at Trinity United Methodist Church in Conway, followed by a reception at the Hyman Family Farm. The colors were ivory, sage green and pewter, and the centerpieces included vintage books, candles and pewter teapots. Though rain made the terrain muddy, everyone still had a great time, including the pair’s yellow lab. Beth and Travis live in Conway in the small farmhouse on this very property.
