Anna and Brantley met via a dating app and began talking on the phone regularly, even though they were in different parts of the state. They learned they had dozens of mutual friends. They began spending every weekend together, often in their favorite part of South Carolina—the Pawleys Island/Litchfield Lowcountry. Eventually Brantley went to work for Anna’s father so the two could be together. After a year and a half of dating, Brantley used Anna’s beloved hobby of looking for sharks’ teeth as a creative way to propose. While taking a stroll on the beach during an Easter vacation, Brantley yelled, “I found one—come check it out!” When Anna turned around he was down on one knee with the ring in an oyster shell. The ceremony took place at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club and featured a harpist, bagpipe player and musical duet performed by the best man and maid of honor. Anna and Brantley live in Greenville, S.C.
