The couple met and became friends in the sixth grade. After dating some in high school, the pair went their separate ways before reconnecting. They got engaged before Michael was deployed, with the proposal taking place at Brookgreen Gardens’ Nights of 1,000 Candles on a night out to the event with friends. The ceremony was held on the lawn of the Litchfield Country Club and had a Southern charm feel with a black, white and marine blue color scheme. There were lots of photos of the couple, as well as mason jar centerpieces with flowers, made by the bride’s mother. The couple plans to live in Jacksonville, N.C., where Michael is currently stationed.
