Abby and Bryan met on the youth soccer field as children. After reconnecting in college, they met again in a restaurant after Bryan moved back to Pennsylvania. After two and a half years, Bryan proposed. The ceremony was held on the lawn at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club, where their mothers participated in a sand ceremony with them.
