Scallop Cakes in Tomato Scallion Butter Sauce

Simply walking in to Collector’s Café is a treat; its uber-chic mood is instantly enveloping, from the art gallery, architecture and lighting to the heavenly aromas emanating from the open kitchen. But when the senses settle down long enough for one’s mind to focus on the menu, the perfect choice is the scallop cake, served either as an entrée or an appetizer.

Chunks of succulent scallops—and very little else—are formed into a cake and pan-sautéed in a garlic butter sauce. The richness of the dish is perfectly cut with a glass of dry white wine. One bite, and guests will know they’re at the right place at the right time. 7726 N. Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach, (843) 449-9370, www.collectorscafeandgallery.com
