More than 50 restaurants on tap for your sampling pleasure

Since 1984, St. Andrew Catholic School has been hosting the annual Taste of the Town food festival. This year’s event is planned for Tuesday, October 9, at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. Nearly 10,000 people are expected to attend.

Featuring food from more than 50 restaurants, the Taste of the Town has “tapas-style” servings of appetizers, entrees and desserts. A $5 wristband ($6 at the door) will get you into the event, and from there, food tickets cost a dollar each.

Restaurants include Greg Norman’s Australian Grille, Rioz Brazilian Steakhouse, Carolina Roadhouse, Capriz Italian Feast, Ruth’s Chris Steak House and The Melting Pot.

It would not be a true Taste of the Town without a bit of competition. Winners will be selected and awarded first through third place in the categories of Best Entrée, Best Dessert, Best Large Booth Décor and Best Small Booth Décor. Guests vote in the People’s and Kid’s Choice contests, where the Best Entrée and Best Dessert are named.

This family-friendly affair is St. Andrew Catholic School’s primary fundraising event.
