Capriz offers a new twist on all you can eat

The newest addition to the TBonz restaurant family, Capriz Italian Feast, opened this fall at Broadway at the Beach.

Like Rioz, its Brazilian steakhouse sister, diners use a table token turned green-side-up to bring a continuous stream of food tableside and flip it to red when their stomachs say “Uncle!” Instead of a succession of skewers bearing grilled meats and poultry, the Capriz servers bring on a never-ending service of pastas, including gnocchi with creamy pesto, baked manicotti, Alfredos, rigatoni alla vodka, spaghetti marinara, homemade meatballs, lasagna bolognaise, carbonara and plates of rotisserie chicken and grilled ribs.
And for starters, there’s an Italian-inspired salad bar that puts the “a” in antipasto with cold stuffed tortellini, eggplant parmesan, asparagus, mozzarella and prosciutto pinwheels, assorted cold meats and cheeses, olives and brimming bowls of tasty salads.

Picking out the right wine couldn’t be easier as Capriz introduces the Grand Strand to iPad “iNeed-a-drink” technology. Order a cocktail right from your table or check out the wine list with a sommelier’s amount of information on each vintage.

Capriz took over the space formerly occupied by Tripp’s next to WonderWorks, and redesigned the footprint to open up seating on either side of a smaller central bar area to be able to showcase the extensive salad bar and inventory of wines.

Mixing the culinary bloodlines of Brazilian and Italian, owner and TBonz partner Orlando Preissler brings to the table many of his family recipes from their namesake Capriz restaurant in southern Brazil.

Drinks and desserts, including classic tiramisu, biscotti, limoncello cake and cannoli, are extra, but one price covers the unlimited pasta, meat, chicken and salad bar. Dinners are $17.95 for adults, $8.95 for children 7 to 12 years of age and those 6 years and younger get to eat for free.
