Ocean 17 offers fine dining at reasonable prices.

Elegance never tasted so good, nor was set at such an affordable price. Ocean 17 Mediterranean Steak House, which opened in the former Lone Star Steakhouse location on Restaurant Row, has an elegant and sophisticated exterior that could seem extravagant for the area, but don’t be intimidated.

Owner Barrie Nadi had a vision to create a different dining experience on the Grand Strand and has blended a combination of Mediterranean charm, a world-class menu and superior service at a casual dining price. The eclectic menu selection reflects the experience gleaned from his 40 years in the restaurant business. “Freshness is key,” says Nadi. Every serving of USDA Prime meat, poultry or fish is hand cut. The vegetables are fresh and the desserts are created daily in the kitchen. The wine cooler contains more than 65 selections stored at twelve different temperatures to influence the natural flavor for maximum taste.

If you don’t want a full meal and are just looking for a place to meet with friends after work for appetizers, Ocean 17 offers a happy hour from 5–7 p.m. The bar area is casual, comfortable and well appointed with music in the background and TVs mounted discreetly at each end of the bar for the diehard sports fan. There is also an ample happy hour menu.

Ocean 17 is a must-try for locals looking for great food at a good price.
